Uninstalling ClamAV¶
Uninstalling ClamAV on Ubuntu:
Step 1: Stop ClamAV Services (if running)
sudo systemctl stop clamav-daemon sudo systemctl stop clamav-freshclam
Step 2: Uninstall ClamAV and Related Packages
sudo apt remove clamav clamav-daemon clamav-freshclam clamav-testfiles
Step 3: Purge Configuration Files (Optional)
If you want to completely remove all configuration files associated with ClamAV, you can use the purge option:
sudo apt purge clamav clamav-daemon clamav-freshclam clamav-testfiles
Step 4: Remove Unused Dependencies (Optional)
sudo apt autoremove
